    Water pollution and runoff turns what should be some of the cleanest water on the planet a muddy red color.  This runoff and erosion is caused by development for the 7 color mountain a tourist attraction that has led to hasty road construction and little ovsersight to development which is causing erosion and habitat destruction of entire mountainsides and valleys.
    Multicolored mountains in the Cordillera Vilcanota, the famous seven colored mountain has gotten international attention but many of the mountains in the area are multi toned.
    Andean flicker (Colaptes rupicola), a large woodpecker that inhabits the Andean Puna. It is one of few woodpecker species that spends most of its time on the ground, it has little choice as no trees grow so high in the mountains.
