    The American flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber) this is the galapagos subspecies (P. r. glyphorhynchus) which differs by being marginally smaller. On some of the islands in the galapagos it is possible to see them wading through the marshes sifting food from the water.

    Galápagos flycatcher (Myiarchus magnirostris) an endemic bird to the galapagos islands. These charismatic birds have little fear of people and can readily be observed on all the islands.
