A female Galapagos lava lizard (Microlophus albemarlensis) basks in the sunshine.

The peanut bug (Fulgora laternaria) named thus for the projection on its head resembling a peanut. No one knows exactly what the purpose of this ornamentation is.

The shield mantis (Choeradodis sp) has an enlarged thorax to help campuflage it among the leaves of its tropical home.
