    A foothill yellow legged frog (Rana boylii)  swallows prey.  These frogs are associated with high quality stream habitat but have sadly declined across much of their range due to disease, habitat degradation, introduced species, and climate change.
    Sierran Treefrog (Pseudacris sierra) a pair in amplexus along a stream in Mendocino County.
    A large northern pacific rattlesnake (Crotalus oreganus) shelters underneath a log at the edge of a cattlepond. Perhaps it has picked this spot in hopes of ambushing one of the killdeer that also frequented the pond.
